lovely location and old building, very good food in the restaurant - it is more of a restaurant than a pub. The breakfast was also excellent.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The food was good.
The dining room and bar share the same area and whilst we were having dinner a customers dog kept bothering my wife.
A beautiful little village. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Plenty of parking.
Unfortunatly the shower head was broken. The toilet roll holder was also broken and the cistern was exceptionally slow.
The fact that my dog and 5 year old daughter are made welcome.
Nothing, the toilet flush system was broken and the manager had no facilities available to repair so i ended up sticking my own hand in the system to make a temp repair. The Macerator sounded like a jet plane every time you flushed the loo. The shower tray did not run clear so the other two members of my family could not have a shower. Breakfast service and food quality was abismal.
Pretty, traditional English Inn, with nice atmosphere. Check in staff were polite and I was asked if we need help with luggage, room was clean with good quality towels and bedding, nice shower and good selection of drinks etc. including filter coffee. The table we had booked for dinner was right opposite the entrance door, but when I said I didn't want to sit by the door, we were given another table without any fuss. Food was good.
The toilet cistern had not been fitted properly and took about 20 mins to refill, as we only stayed one night didn't have time to mention to anyone as we checked out early, only one person in the kitchen about then.
in a nice village
really loud plumbing,no electric in the morning all the plumbing eg toilet, basin and shower wouldn't drain away, poor shower very slow and couldn't get a constant temperature either too hot or cold. Not offered another room to dry my hair in and had to spend all morning with wet hair.Breakfast was very slow and not worth the wait, cold greasy and eggs you could play tennis with.Didn't get an apology for any of it,just a shrug and told it was an old building also charged full price with no discount for inconviences
The location is beautiful and totally relaxed for a break in the country. Lots to see and do in the area and not far from the coast.
The natural ambience and old world charm, food, choice of real ales, location for beautiful dorset and somerset, away from rat race and traffic.
They welcomed pets so it was ideal to bring our dog for the weekend away.
The toilet in our room was very noisy- it had a 'Saniflo' toilet in there, It appeared to go off at random intervals- very loud.
The welcome,doombar,value for money (3 b+b for £55),breakfast +very quiet at night.
Bar shut a little early (21.00) although it was sunday night. I`m sure they would have stayed open if we had asked. Batter was a bit soggy on our fish + chips were a too greasy.
Location & Setting were beautiful. Food was very good.
Some of the staff were excellent, however, one member was not quite as welcoming. I booked the room for a rate of £105 and I have been over- charged which I was not impressed with.
